This informal certificate program is conducted at the College and is open to all interested persons, regardless of academic background, who wish to build their capacity in salon and hairdressing. Delivered through a highly practical, hands-on approach, the course caters to learners of all categories. Assessment is carried out by the National Assessment Body (UVTAB) under the informal program framework. Upon completion, trainees are well-prepared to engage in salon and hairdressing businesses, enhancing their livelihood opportunities and contributing to the growing beauty industry.
The program aims to: • Equip learners with fundamental technical skills and professional knowledge for a career in the beauty industry. • Enable mastery of hair techniques, including cutting, styling, coloring, and treatment. • Provide understanding of hair science and salon hygiene standards. • Develop strong client service and communication skills. • Build product knowledge for safe and effective use of salon materials. • Introduce business basics to support entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
By the end of the course, graduates will: • Demonstrate proficiency in a wide range of hairdressing techniques. • Apply professional standards of hygiene and safety in salon operations. • Deliver excellent client care and build lasting customer relationships. • Confidently use and recommend appropriate hair products. • Establish or manage salon businesses with sound entrepreneurial practices. • Improve personal and household income through professional engagement in the beauty sector.
