This informal certificate program is conducted at the college and is designed for individuals of all academic levels who wish to build their capacity in carpentry and joinery. The training emphasizes a practical, hands on approach to ensure inclusivity and relevance for learners from diverse backgrounds. Assessment is carried out by the National Assessment body, UVTAB, under the informal program framework. The course is particularly relevant to smallholder and community based livelihood strategies, offering skills that support climate change adaptation through the use of sustainable materials, efficient construction techniques, and environmentally friendly practices. By equipping learners with practical carpentry and joinery skills, the program enables participants to engage in woodwork and construction businesses, contributing to improved household income, employment creation, and resilient community development. Course Objectives
