The National Certificate in Hotel and Institutional Catering is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to excel in the dynamic tourism and hospitality industry. The program integrates practical training with theoretical knowledge, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for both employment and entrepreneurship in the sector. The course targets holders of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent from recognized institutions. Assessment is conducted by the National Assessment Body (UVTAB). Upon successful completion, graduates are awarded a certificate confirming their competence to manage hotels, catering operations, and institutional hospitality services.
The program aims to: • Equip learners with practical competencies and technical knowledge for high-quality hospitality and catering services. • Develop professional attitudes and customer service excellence in tourism and hospitality. • Train learners in managing large-scale catering operations, commercial kitchens, and accommodation facilities. • Instill knowledge of hospitality law, sustainable tourism, and events management. • Strengthen financial management, research, and operational planning skills. • Prepare learners for entrepreneurship and leadership roles in the hospitality sector.
